SUMMARY:Rivaton Translators Supports Intergenerational Transitional Justice Dialogue in Nairobi
DESCRIPTION:Rivaton Translators provided English–French simultaneous interpreting\, conference equipment and hybrid meeting support for “Strengthening Intergenerational Collaboration for Transitional Justice in Africa\,” held on 10–11 September 2026 in Nairobi\, Kenya. \nThe Leadership and Learning Dialogue connected the African Women for Transitional Justice Platform (AW4TJ) and the African Youth for Transitional Justice Platform (AY4TJ). Rivaton’s engagement with the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) supported multilingual communication throughout the two-day gathering. \nConnecting Generations Across Languages\nThe dialogue centred on historical justice and reparations; leadership\, wellbeing and resilience; and advocacy and intergenerational collaboration. Its purpose was to strengthen reciprocal learning between experienced women practitioners and younger justice advocates in support of the African Union Transitional Justice Policy. \nThe programme combined moderated exchanges\, case-based discussions and group work to explore practical priorities for collaboration. In this setting\, language access supported the exchange of experience and perspectives across Africa’s English- and French-speaking communities. \nIntegrated Language and Conference Support\nRivaton’s service package included: \n\nTwo professional English–French simultaneous interpreters across both days.\nSimultaneous interpretation equipment for 44 participants\, including a soundproof booth\, interpreter consoles\, wireless receivers and headsets.\nConference audio systems\, including table microphones and loudspeakers.\nHybrid meeting technology\, including laptops\, an HD camera and audio connections.\nEquipment installation\, testing and on-site technical support.\n\nBy coordinating professional interpreting with conference technology\, Rivaton supported communication between participants at the venue and those joining remotely. \nSupporting Regional Dialogue Through Professional Interpreting\nThis assignment reflects Rivaton Translators’ experience supporting specialised forums where language access is essential to inclusive participation. We appreciate ICTJ’s trust in our team and the opportunity to contribute to this intergenerational exchange. \nPlanning a multilingual dialogue\, regional workshop or hybrid conference in Kenya?
