Date & Time:

September 16, 2026 - September 17, 2026
Rivaton Translators provided English–French interpreting, conference equipment and hybrid support for the African CCCF workshop in Nairobi, September 2026.

Rivaton Translators delivered English–French simultaneous interpreting, conference equipment and hybrid meeting support for the African Regional Workshop on the Codex Committee on Contaminants in Food (CCCF), held on 16–17 September 2026 at Emara Ole-Sereni Hotel, Nairobi.

Convened by the African Union Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) and the Minor Use Foundation (MUF), the workshop focused on strengthening technical capacity and coordinating African perspectives for participation in international food safety standard-setting.

Supporting Technical Dialogue Across Languages

The programme addressed Codex procedures, scientific risk assessment and the development of national positions on priority food contaminants. Technical sessions examined aflatoxins, cadmium, tropane alkaloids and lead contamination in spice mixtures, alongside their implications for public health, food security and trade.

Practical exercises enabled delegates to navigate Codex documentation, draft country positions and explore areas of regional alignment.

Integrated Interpreting and Hybrid Conference Solutions

Rivaton supported the two-day workshop with:

  • Two professional English–French simultaneous interpreters.
  • Interpretation equipment for 30 participants, including a soundproof booth, interpreter consoles and wireless receivers with headsets.
  • Conference audio equipment, including table microphones, loudspeakers and a control system.
  • Hybrid meeting support, with an HD camera, laptop, audio connections and technical assistance for remote contributions.
  • On-site setup, testing, technical support and dismantling.

By coordinating interpreting and conference technology, Rivaton helped delegates access technical discussions across languages while supporting contributions from both on-site and remote presenters.

This assignment reflects Rivaton Translators’ capacity to support specialised regional workshops where precise communication and coordinated technical delivery are essential.

We appreciate the opportunity to support AU-IBAR and the Minor Use Foundation in advancing dialogue on African food safety priorities.
